I'm a firefighter for Miami-Dade County Florida, and at times I'm able to shoot some of the scenes we arrive on. This is one of those times...

Wow. This is an impressive shot. How do you manage to get away with snapping pictures though? (I would probably get cussed to hell and back if I was seen with a camera. lol)

And man, how long was that fire burning before you got there? I've never seen one that involved before (though I'm still new to the game).

Well.. I'm able to do this because I am firefighter and I'm also the driver which means I do have moments in which I can pull out my camera and fire off a few shots..

That was a single wide trailer, and although it looks fully involved, it was only the front end where the kitchen is... I have some photos of the trailer after the fire if you'd like to see :)

Do you have an interest in becoming a firefighter?

Actually, I just got certified not too long ago. I'm a part of a volunteer department. :]

Excellent shot - we seldom have fires that get out of hand this much, because most fires are spotted quite early in their development where I live. But when they get that big - boy, are they impressive.

Fire is a very beautiful and fascinating thing, but still we put it out so it does no harm to people.

Great shot, nevertheless! :+fav:

Amazing shot.
I admire firefighters very much.
I don't know how it is in the USA, but here in Mexico their suits and equipment it's very old and not so safe...
My uncle is chief at a station, and says the goverment neglects them a lot...

I must be daft or something... I didn't know you were a firefighter! But it's amazing you're allowed to photograph the fires from time to time. I just feel terribly sorry for the people whose home that was.

I've been a firefighter for almost 12 years now :) I'm not one of those firefighters that wear the fire t-shirts all the time though ;) I usually tell people that I like to take photos that tell stories before I tell them that I'm a fireman...

My step father is a fire fighter. Ashamedly, sometimes forget what the job entails. When I'm so busy sometimes, though, all I know is he works odd hours and I don't really think about where he is. This picture brings it all back to life. Pictures like this hit you.

It's beautiful in its destruction. :)

wow this photo is great. firefighters are awesome because they do nothing but help. sometimes police officers will abuse their authority and power and you guys pretty much are in the job just to help.

as someone who's home has nearly burnt down 3 times do to wildfires i thank you for your contribution to society.
