Artist's Comments

Funny thing happens after I go out shooting an event, or anything I photograph for that matter, when I get home and look at what I've captured for the day, I absolutely HATE the photos! Oddly enough, I'm now completely in LOVE with about 20 of the photos, and that is actually a lot for me to love from a single event.

After much of the crowd had gone a marching through the streets of Portland, Oregon protesting the invasion and occupation of Iraq after 3 long years, I came across a man dressed up like George W. Bush on an aircraft carrier declaring "Mission Accomplished". His daughter floated around him in a bumble bee costume as he posed for the crowd walking by. When much of the crowd had gone he took off his mask and knelt down to talk to her.

Very nice, we never get to see the love part of protests anymore.

By the way, do I smell a Blind Mellon reference?

I really like this picture too. There is just a sweetness about it that I can't quite put my finger on...but give me a few, and I will. :-) Take care...and I wish I lived in an area of the country that had "protests"...sounds interesting.

It's been a little time I don't hear about you... :thanks:
What you said about hating and loving the pictures also happens to me... I think that's normal.
I really like this picture... black and white, as usual, makes it even better.
And the moment is magic too. Thanks for sharing with us! :cuddle:
