Artist's Comments

Saturday, October 28th, just days before the 2006 mid-term elections. The people will force the issue of the Iraq war onto the U.S. political stage by taking to streets in demonstrations in cities and towns throughout the United States. Tens of thousands of people will take to the streets in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Seattle, New York, Miami, Washington D.C. and in other large and small cities and towns throughout the United States.

That is of course unless it rains. I had a pretty bad feeling going into this that there would be a poor showing with the weather being so bad and all, but a few of the hardcore anti-war folks did show.

What: 2006 mid-term elections anti-war protest.

To love and be loved is the greatest happiness of existence...
Well, that, and that thing you do with your tongue.
Amen to the message here... although, before the U.S decides to leave, they better make sure Iraq doesn't implode with this lovely import of "democracy" :)

What really captivates me, is the triangle of faces, the two girls and the person of the poster. It adds this strange dynamic that I find hard to explain, but that I still love to see. Also, the contrast between the live people and the people in the posters, where those in the demonstraiton stand still, mouths shut while the poster-people is caught in action, is wondeful.
